Security systems

are security concepts that are adequately implemented and thus deemed sufficient for the given purpose. A security concept consists of a number of integrated security measures, which only as a whole can provide the desired protective effects.

According to the object to be protected, they may consist of structural, technological, organisational and actuarial measures. The required protection is defined on the basis of a systematic risk analysis and security aims (risk management).

An optimal security concept is to meet with the following requirements:

- Consistency of the measures taken (no security gaps)
- Completeness (e.g. including emergency and catastrophe measures)
- Around the clock effectiveness in all states of operation
- proportionality of costs and benefits (risk analysis).
